Room Benefits

Spread across two levels like a cosy attic hideaway, this apartment-style studio was designed for guests who love character, warmth and a little playfulness. The vibrant yellow tones bring a cheerful energy to the space, while the upstairs bedroom tucked beneath the roof creates the feeling of a private retreat overlooking the gardens. In the lobby area, the extensible sofa easily transforms into an extra bed, making the room ideal for couples or small families. Throughout the room, decorative details pay homage to the traditional craft of felting, blending soft textures and handcrafted elements into a warm, story-filled atmosphere.

The Story
Felting

In earlier centuries felt was the basic material of hatmakers, it was made of animal hairs, especially sheep wool and rabbit hairs. After cleaning, the wool was degreased in warm water with ash lye, then after drying it was taken apart to fibres and combed. In the course of felting the hairs were compressed by steaming and adding water, then it was wrapped in cloth and thoroughly matted, condensed, while it was watered with hot water. The spreading of industrially manufactured hats suppressed the profession of hatmaking.

Nowadays felt makers, attracted towards handicraft, make articles of personal use and decorative objects – slippers, wall ornaments, rugs – as well as garment accessories – bags, buckles, shakos.
