Wood carving is an old and important tradition for the inhabitants of Szeklerland. The wooden szekler gates are unique works of art on a global scale, one of the many wonders of Transylvania. The Woodcarver's room provides insight into all of these details.
In Vargyas, the Sütő family has been keeping the tradition of folk wood carving and painting alive, for 15 generations.
This in itself is a very rare craft and by visiting their local exhibition, we may gain insight into the world of furniture paiting and even learn the secrets of the "talking chairs".
