The Story

The Daniel family legend tells that the wedding celebrations of Prince Gábor Bethlen and Catharina of Brandenburg lasted three days in Tălișoara, under the supervision of the Daniel family.

While historical records suggest otherwise, the story likely grew from Bethlen's connection to the estate and the festive Renaissance wall paintings preserved within the castle. Even so, Catharina's Boudoir pays homage to the refined world of the Renaissance princess, where noble gatherings, art and storytelling once shaped the atmosphere of Transylvanian courts.
